How to use this calculator
- Enter the income and loss under each head for the year and the losses brought forward.
- Choose the type of loss to match your situation.
- Read the loss set off, the loss carried forward and the year in which it expires in the result.
Return must be filed in time to carry forward most losses; check the time limit for each loss.
The result is an estimate for the figures you enter. It is not a filed return, a certificate or professional advice. Rates, thresholds and section numbers change with each Finance Act, and the Income-tax Act, 2025 applies from 1 April 2026 with new section and form numbers.
